Shlokas for the wedding bells
These verses are the ones families ask to set at the top of a wedding invitation. We can print them in Sanskrit, with the names and the muhurat underneath.
Invitation opening
Vakratunda mahakaya suryakoti samaprabha. Nirvighnam kuru me deva sarvakaryeshu sarvada.
A prayer to Ganesha, placed first on the card so the wedding begins without obstacle.
When the bells are rung
Mangalam bhagavan vishnuh mangalam garudadhvajah. Mangalam pundarikaksho mangalayatanam harih.
The mangalam verse that marks the invitation as an auspicious call to the wedding.
Closing blessing
Sarve bhavantu sukhinah sarve santu niramayah. Sarve bhadrani pashyantu ma kashcid duhkhabhag bhavet.
A wish that everyone who reads the card, and everyone at the wedding, stays well.
